I grew up along the California coast, where light was something you designed around — wide windows, soft breezes, rooms that breathed.
When life brought me to Tennessee, I fell in love with the South’s gracious, unhurried sense of home — the kind of warmth that makes a house feel like it’s been lived in for generations, even if it’s brand new.
Through my interior design practice, I noticed that nearly every family I worked with struggled with the same thing: light. How to control it, soften it, and make it part of the design rather than an afterthought.
The Shade Studio grew out of that observation — and out of a deep belief that every family deserves to feel completely confident in how their home looks and lives. Not guessing. Not hoping. Knowing.
